It's probably nothing, but...

So after enjoying a day at the beach, I later went to the gym. The gym is where I watch the news, if at all, because it's the only thing worth watching there. Other than that, I don't really watch the news.

Anyway, I watched a very sad news story of a nine year old boy who died of a brain infection caused by amoeba (sp?), which is a brain-eating disease. Its' very rare, but resembles meningitis so doctors think that a lot of cases have been missed. Amoeba nearly always results in death; only seven people have survived world-wide.

Another woman who lost her seven year old daughter to what they thought was meningitis also died from amoeba. Both children have gotten this virus from swimmng in lakes. Both parents are warning all parents to make sure children wear nose plugs when swimming in lakes.

So I get home from the gym and Luke meets me at the door, asking to go to bed. He's got a fever and a headache. It's probably nothing, but of course, now I'm worried. I told Dennis that Luke is sick and Dennis was surprised and said, "He was fine just a minute ago." I told him of Luke's symptoms and reminded him that you can't fake a fever. "It's probably amoeba," Dennis joked. "Don't say that!" I said to him.

Like I said, it's probably nothing, but I'll be watching Luke closely tonight.
