Different Perspectives

For you, Mom, and all you energetic Grandma's out there. Meant in all good, tired and exasperated fun.

The mom sees clutters of papers of the same artwork and drawings that they see every day, and throws them away. (Keeps some but throws most away.)The Grandma sees a treasure and says "Keep it! One day you'll look back and have a treasure!" The tired mom wonders where she will store all that "treasure".

The Grandma lets the kids go in the rain muddles which are actually watery mud puddles, and say, "Life's too short! Let the kids have fun!" The tired Mom just sees all that laundry she's going to have to have to do.

The grandma fills the kids up with sweets and "break the rules" that she had kept diligently over the years with her own kids. The tired Mom wonders how she's going to get her kids to bed because now they are climbing walls.

The Grandma just laughs at all the small problems and messes that kids sometimes make. The tired mom wonders if that means the kids can spend the night at Grandmas.

The tired mom "slaps everything together" for a meal like her mom did as she was growing up, the energetic grandma says, "That's all you're going to give them??"

The tired mom finally asks the energetic grandma if she could do it all over again, would she?

"Heck, no!" Grandma says, as she starts to list off reasons like her age, the energetic kids and so on.

Alright then. Now we both see it from the same perspective.
