Friday, Luke stayed home w/ the flu and fevers. Saturday he was still sick but seeming to be on the mend. Meanwhile, Lucy and Anna were starting to cough a lot. All night long, Lucy, Anna, Luke and now Henry coughed. I was in a light sleep all night, waking up every time somebody coughed.
Today it was Lucy who had fevers. She tends to only run low-grade temps like me--however, she's sensitive to them so they might as well be high fevers. Every time she has a fever, she goes to bed and stays there, usually falls asleep. Anna was very difficult today due to not taking a nap--I then took her temperature for fun, at her request, and found out that she too, was running a small temp. Oops.
And now, poor Henry is sick, probably the sickest of all. Poor baby has been waking up and coughing, cries a little and falls back to sleep before we can even get in the room to help him. We finally got him up to take his temperature and give him medication. Looks like it might be another long night.
One thing happened today that I thought was funny. Luke "discovered" a snowflake napkin ring of which we never use. Back in the day, when we used to use manners and napkins, we used napkin rings to be fancy. However, that was a long time ago and now paper towels replace napkins. Anyway, because we don't use them, he thought it was a large ring--he got very excited over his 'treasure" and asked if he could keep it. I said, "sure" because what do I care, we eat like pigs. He said, "I can???" like he couldn't believe his good fortune. So for the rest of the evening, he walked around with his napkin ring, calling it his "jewel." We tried telling him that it's actually a napkin ring, but since he has no idea what a napkin ring really is, he still thinks he has found a rare treasure--a huge snowflake ring.
We did get a little worried when he said he was going to bring his snowflake ring to Show and Tell though. Lucy whispered, "I'm afraid the little girls will laugh at them." (She must be learning at even an early age, how catty girls can be.) I was hoping that eventually through the hours of the evening that he would eventually forget about the napkin ring and forget about Show and Tell too.
But it looks like that's not going to happen, as Luke has been cautious enough to guard his treasure even in his sleep.
It's a rare find, you know. Napkin rings are not discovered here in the Arganbright home often.

Hoping you all are well soon! Love the napkin ring! So fancy...sometimes we don't even use paper towel here... ;)
